These pictures are from Sunday. After spending all weekend seating at the couch/chilling/watching polish TV/eating home made hamburgers, polish kielbasa, fried clams and drinking beer we came up with an idea to move our ass and go for a walk. Our destination – Kennebunkport, ME.

Nowa Anglia potrafi mnie zaskoczyć. Do tej pory wydawało mi się, że jest tylko jeden rodzaj gry w kręgle – kręgle klasyczne, jakże popularne w Europie. Teraz zdaję sobie sprawę, że taki punkt widzenia był bardzo ograniczony, dlatego też bardzo się cieszę, że było mi dane spróbować innego odłamu gry w kręgle – potocznie naz. ” Candlepin”.

Candlepin bowling is a unique game found mostly in New England – New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts and Eastern Canada. What makes this game different from other forms of bowling is the shape of the pins and the size of the balls.

After playing candlepin bowling we headed to the game room where we had a lot of fun. Anna ended up covered with tickets which she gladly changed for some candies and toys.

Po grze udaliśmy się do salonu gier gdzie równie świetnie się bawiliśmy. Ania wyszła z potężną garścią wygranych przez nas bilecików, które później zamieniła na nagrody – cukierki i zabawki.

I am so happy…

After some time spent in Kraków we decided to go to Zamość. Thanks to Maciejs best friend, Bartek I saw Roztocze National Park for the first time.

The weather was beautiful, so we were able to hike in the woods, do some sightseeing and eat my first ice cream this year.

Oh, I forgot to tell you! I bought new glasses. I hope you like them.

Surva is the International Festival of the Masquerade Games in Pernik. It is the biggest event of this type not only in Bulgaria but on the Balkan Peninsula. It promotes variations of ancient Bulgarian customs that are still alive today. These are an important part of the Bulgarian folklore tradition and are meant to be performed by single men and women. With its competitive nature, the festival is not only a venue but also a contest for the living vessels of this tradition, namely the Kukeri and Survakari.
